TEES VALLEY HOUSING: TEES VALLEY EXPERT TAKES ON REGIONAL ROLE

An expert on schemes to improve family life has won a prestigious regional role in her field.

Lynsey Jones has become one of only seven Family Intervention Project (FIP) Specialists across the country.

Lynsey’s new role, for the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), is running alongside her current role as FIP co-ordinator for Tees Valley Housing.

The post means Lynsey works with local authorities across the North-East region to ensure any Family Intervention Projects they run are operating via set guidelines and hitting performance targets.

Lynsey said: “I am delighted to be part of the Families at Risk Delivery Team within the DCSF.

“I am very passionate about the excellent outcomes that can be achieved through Family Intervention Projects and look forward to sharing my experience with others.”

Tees Valley Housing already runs six successful FIPs across the Tees Valley, which tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour, worklessness and child poverty.

Gill Strachan from the DCSF said: “We’ve recruited the most experienced FIP staff from across the country to support the roll out of FIPs.

“We’ve recognised the skills and talent within the FIP workforce and brought together a team of the most highly experienced and skilled managers from across the country to support local authorities and their partners.”
