HOME CALL PASSES INDUSTRY WATCHDOG ACCREDITATION WITH FLYING COLOURS

HomeCall, the telecare division of Coast & Country Housing, has received full marks from the telecare industry watchdog following an inspection of its services, which assist vulnerable people from across the Tees Valley to live independently in their homes.

The Telecare Services Association (TSA) has given HomeCall its highest accreditation for the second year running, making them the only individual provider in the Tees Valley to pass all three levels of the TSA Code of Practice in call handling, telecare installation, and mobile response.

The accreditation is great news for the thousands of HomeCall customers who receive specialist support through alarm pendants, which are linked to interactive sensors in their home.

It means that the service that they receive from HomeCall is part of a TSA quality framework, which says that it has undergone a robust independent inspection and that the service meets an extremely high standard.

The accreditation from the TSA also supports HomeCall’s business development programme, which aims to gain contracts from local authorities and other telecare providers located across the country.

By having the full accreditation, these organisations can outsource certain elements of their telecare service to HomeCall, rather than going through the time-consuming process of being inspected for all three levels.

HomeCall is one of only 36 telecare providers nationally to have received the full level of accreditation, with 118 being given either levels one or two.

Jason Lowe from HomeCall said: “We are extremely pleased to have received the accreditation from the TSA, as it underpins our philosophy of providing exceptional customer service across the Tees Valley.

“To have been given all levels for the second year running shows that we have not rested on our laurels and have performed to the highest standard for the last twelve months.

“Only a few service providers nationally have been given the same honour and also being the only individual telecare provider in the Tees Valley to have gone through the full inspection process is something that we are very proud of.”
