COMMUNITY MAKEOVER CHALLENGE
Coast & Country workers and residents have gone up against the clock to give a community centre a makeover.
In the style of the TV show, 60 Minute Makeover, those taking part had only an hour to transform Birkdale Drive Community Centre in Eston.
The speedy workers rose to the challenge and got cracking painting walls, and doors, hanging curtains, washing windows, and generally tidying up the premises both inside and out.
Overseeing the challenge was Bill Charles, a Coast & Country Property Technician, who blew the whistle to get the makeover hit squad started.
Bill also kept a close eye on the clock to make sure the team was kept right on track when it came to meeting the tight deadline.
The event, which was supported by B&Q, was part of Coast & Country’s contribution to National Customer Service Week.
Iain Sim, Coast & Country chief executive said: “With the pressure of the clock ticking by, the team did a fantastic job on transforming the community centre, which is a real asset to those living in the surrounding area.
“National Customer Service Week is designed to raise awareness of customer service and the vital role it plays within an organisation. Coast & Country is dedicated to providing a quality service to its residents.
“This 60 minute makeover challenge was a fun way of getting that message across while at the same time having an end result which benefits the local community.”
Everyone’s hard work was worthwhile as the community centre users were delighted with its bright new look.
Their verdict when they first saw the result of the 60 minute makeover? – “Its beautiful”, “what a difference”, and “it doesn’t look the same place”.
