FORUM SUCCESS

Coast & Country Housing has held a forum bringing together residents and other local agencies.

The event, which featured interactive workshops and discussion groups, went down well with those who attended.

The forum’s theme was: Disability – The Myths and The Reality and was about promoting diversity and inclusiveness.

A number of partner organisations contributed including Redcar Opportunity Centre which hosted a quiz, and local artist Adrian Mole who led an interactive workshop to create a ‘Mandala’ which is a piece of artwork using dried peas and beans.

Tea and scones at the forum, which was held at Eston City Learning Centre, were provided by Upsall Hall.

Iain Sim, Coast and Country chief executive, said: “The event was a success and gave our residents the chance to meet our staff as well as learn about and exchange views with other local organisations.

“The event was about promoting diversity and inclusiveness which is a central to Coast and Country’s values and culture.

“This serious message was interwoven with interactive elements such as creating a piece of art and taking part in a quiz, which helped break down barriers and encouraged dialogue.”
